Rebirth of Classic R&B, Pop and American Songbook Generating Buzz Among Music Community
BOSTON, MA., June 2, 2014 / / — American Pop/Rock/R&B Big Band Solon Z and the Sapphires announce their 1st show kicking off August 8th in Falmouth, MA. Tickets now on sale to the public www.museumsonthegreen.org Solon Z and the Sapphires, a Big Band Orchestra bringing back the sounds of Elvis, Motown and Sinatra, made their debut with the release of their Swingin’ Recording Session in April.
Hailing from Boston, Solon Z and The Sapphires boast a star studded line-up of musicians who have over 50 years of collective experience as performers on various levels. This Orchestra is adaptable to many different settings, expanding or reducing their line-up as needed to fit any stage, venue or mood.
Solon Z and The Sapphires can perform as a 9-piece orchestra, but their line-up can, in fact, be expanded in order to feature as many as 24 musicians, allowing the group to perform a really wide repertoire of diverse music.
Their songbook is extensive and versatile: from the colorful vibes of American Songbook Jazz, Pop, Motown and Soul to paying tribute to Broadway with original arrangements of musical classics, to portraying the emotional impact of Opera…or why not, an eclectic mix of all of the above?
Solon Z and The Sapphires are absolute professionals on and off the stage, but their proficiency does not make them stiff and “soul-less” performers. The group’s passion echoes through every note, striving for that unique level of authenticity and uplifting energy.
Career highlights of the players include headlining former US president Bill Clinton’s farewell concert, to performing for the United Nations, and headlining the local many of the Harpoon Brewery Festivals. You can find them performing frequently as a Boston Wedding Band, but also traveling from Boston to Cape Cod and Providence for corporate events.
